MakeSense with a joystick makes students games even more fun to play. I purchased this one from Adafruit. Wiring is easy. Each axis has it’s own ground, voltage, and data channel. Hook them up to Channel 4 and 5 on the board.
Next I set up MakeSense! with the default settings
Have students make a game that uses the left right up down arrow keys.
